Dr. Cole received her medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa and completed her residency and fellowship training at Florida Hospital, now AdventHealth.

As part of her role as director of the Geriatric Fellowship, Dr. Cole supervises medical students, residents, and geriatric fellows in the care of elderly patients in outpatient settings and nursing homes. She oversees a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment Clinic where elder patients and their caregivers meet with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate their medical, functional, and psychosocial status.

Dr. Cole is the Orlando campus Clerkship Director for Geriatrics at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Wynne is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Assistant Program Director of the Geriatric Fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatrician with a family medicine background.

Dr. Wynne completed her medical school and family medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by geriatric fellowship at AdventHealth in Orlando. She sees patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinic, skilled nursing facilities, and inpatient with the geriatric consult service. She is an active member of The Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine and the American Geriatric Society.

Dr. Wynne is passionate about practicing evidence-based medicine and strives to be a life-long learner. In her free time, she enjoys running marathons and exploring the outdoors.

Dr. Flock is a sunshine state native originally from Miami, Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida State University and continued on at the College of Medicine. Dr. Flock earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University of West Florida with a focus in adolescent health and prevention. Dr. Flock completed her Family Medicine residency as chief resident at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina in 2017 and is a board certified Family Physician.

Dr. Flock has a passion for maternal/child-care and provides all age pediatric care as well as outpatient obstetric care. She has additional experience in adolescent medicine, risk reduction/prevention, reproductive health, and LGBTQ+ care.

Dr. Flock returned to Florida in 2020 and is employed by Halifax Health. She lives in New Smyrna Beach with her husband and toddler.

Dr. Cavanagh is the Associate Program Director for Florida State University’s Family Medicine Residency Program at Lee Health, in Fort Myers, Florida. She has served as faculty for the program since 2012, and is a Clinical Professor for FSU. She enjoys practicing all aspects of family medicine, including family medicine maternity care. She is a National Advisory Faculty for AAFP’s Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics course. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks on the beach, playing board games, and serving as the 2023 FAFP President.

Dr. Illes is the Director of Behavioral Medicine and a clinical health psychologist. She provides direct clinical services and precepting within the Family Medicine clinic. Her research and clinical interest include culturally responsive health care, resiliency in medical education, mentorship of trainees of color, health disparities, preventative and women’s health concerns, and multicultural counseling in psychology and medicine. She provides gender affirming care.

Dr. Ann Klega is the Associate Program Director at AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency in Winter Park, FL, where she has the privilege of helping train Family Physicians to bring comprehensive care to their patients of all ages for the past 9 years.

She has also served for 6 years as the Medical Director for Discovery Behavioral Health, a residential treatment center for adolescents with eating disorders.

She is a graduate of University of Florida College of Medicine and Halifax Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. She finds her joy in her family, especially her 3 children.

Dr. Wong was born in Venezuela but raised in Oklahoma. Dr. Wong completed his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Oklahoma, graduating summa cum laude, before joining the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where he completed his residency in family medicine. He then found his way to Fort Myers, FL where he completed his fellowship in global health before joining the staff at the FSU family medicine program at Lee Health.

Dr. Wong has a passion for medical education and has been honored with multiple teaching awards, including the Mayo Clinic golden stethoscope award for excellence in medical student teaching, the STFM Resident Teacher of the Year award, and the Outstanding Faculty award at his current institution.

He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor and core faculty in Fort Myers. Outside of medicine, Dr. Wong enjoys reading, writing, rendering, and running, along with well-timed opportunities for alliteration.

Dr. Vandervoort earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Florida in 1995. Subsequently, he completed a specialty residency in Primary Care Pharmacy Practice at the Family Health Center at Florida Hospital, where he has served for the past twenty-eight years as the Faculty Pharmacist for Florida Hospital’s Family Practice Residency.

His practice interests include literature review and analysis, diabetes, infectious disease, and anticoagulation.

His hobbies include Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Home Theater. He lives in Ocoee with his wife and two children.

Dr. Buelt completed his residency in family medicine at St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine and a Hospitalist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Bay Pines, FL.

He has served as medical editor for primary care reviews and perspectives and worked with Right on Prime to help record and produce over 100 hours of continuous medical education. He was a member of the Veteran Affairs Evidence-Based Practice Work Group that wrote and published the 2020 guideline update for the management of dyslipidemia for cardiovascular risk reduction.

He is the founder and host of Questioning Medicine podcast where he records and produces podcasts that aim to provide current medical information for patients and physicians. Questioning medicine was named in the American Family Physician list of 25 Podcast Episodes Every Family Physician Should Listen To.

Dr. Needham has practiced academic family medicine for over 30 years. He graduated from medical school at Emory in Atlanta, GA and completed a family medicine residency at Tripler Army Medicine Center in Hawaii.

After practicing in the US Army for seven years, he joined Emory Family Medicine for 11 years. Feeling the call of the ocean and beautiful weather, he moved to Orlando in 2011 and became the program director at the AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency. In 2023, Dr. Needham completes his 20th year as a program director.

He has regularly presented at the AAFP’s FMX since 2010, as well as speaking for the Georgia and Florida Academies for over 15 years. He has received the Teacher of the Year award from both the FAFP (2013) and GAFP (2007). In 2017, he received the Gold Level Program Director award from the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors for his years of leadership and experience.

It is his joy and passion to teach students of medicine the wonders of the human body and spirit. He loves his wife of 35 years, his five children and three granddaughters, the rigors of outdoor exercise, and the wonder and surprise of fishing.

Dr. Farrar has been the fellowship director for the USF/Morton Plant Mease sports medicine program since 2012. He is also an assistant director for the family medicine residency program there as well.

He completed his fellowship at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, and his residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio after finishing medical school at the University of Louisville.

He has been published on various clinic topics with an interest in endurance medicine, and has nearly 25 years of sideline event coverage experience. In addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities, he is the volunteer medical director for IronMan70.3 Florida (in Haines City) and has been the lead US Medical Physician for the Toronto Blue Jays since 2017.

He has 3 college-aged children and has been married for 29 years and counting!

Dr. Davidoff has practiced Urgent Care Medicine for more than 15 years in both Upstate NY and Central FL.

She completed a residency and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Initially working as an Emergency Physician, she has held faculty positions at several medical, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner schools and programs. She has experience in all types of urgent care organizations from single owner-operator facilities to university-owned, hospital-based and for-profit facilities.

Dr. Davidoff has lectured extensively both locally and nationally on a variety of topics related to Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine, and has published numerous case reports and review articles. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Urgent Care Association, and the Southeast Urgent Care Association. As an educator, writer, and ICF-certified coach, Dr. Sanchez empowers her colleagues to reclaim a sense of meaning and purpose in medicine and in life. She is the author of four books, including her latest, Recapturing Joy in Medicine. She trained in family medicine at Halifax Medical Center, where she was chief resident and president of the Florida Association of Family Medicine Residents.

A national expert in physician wellness and a pioneer in coaching in healthcare settings, she holds a credential from the International Coach Federation and specializes in physician wellness, “burnout” prevention, leadership development, and life-work integration.

She was privileged to help start Grace Medical Home, an outstanding clinic for the underserved in central Florida that has gained national attention. She has served two terms on the FAFP Board of Directors and multiple times at the Capitol as Doctor of the Day, where she’s been called upon to testify before committees on behalf of physicians and patients. In 2021, she was one of five physicians chosen by the AAFP to join a national effort focused on physician wellness, equity, and leadership. Two years ago, she was honored to receive the AMA Inspiration Award.
